Language Skills

Each student must demonstrate knowledge of minimum three languages before graduation:

1. English Language

Minimum level C1 according to CEFR, which students have to demonstrate when entering the CEMS programme.

2. Second Language

Mother tongue or B1 oral / B1 written level .

3. Third Language

Any language on the elementary level or Mother tongue

Language Assessment according to the CEMS requirements (recognition in cems.org database)

Students have several options to prove their proficiency in foreign languages:

  • Proof of secondary education/university degree in a foreign language
  • CEMS accredited language courses available for different languages at CEMS schools,
  • “External” language tests accredited by CEMS at a B2 level (such as “Goethe-Zertifikat” by the “Goethe Institut”, or “Diplôme approfondi de langue française” i.e.  DALF, by the Ministere de l’Education Nationale).
  • A commercial language course at an elementary level from a CEMS accredited cultural institution (such as the “Goethe Institut” or “l’Alliance Française”)
  • An introductory level course at an elementary or higher level 6 ECTS/ 90 total workload hours.

Language Assessment according to the VSE (Prague University of Economics and Business) requirements (recognition in study system InSIS)

Students have several options to prove their proficiency in foreign languages:

  • CEMS accredited language courses available for different languages at CEMS schools,
  • “External” language tests accredited by CEMS at a B2 level (such as “Goethe-Zertifikat” by the “Goethe Institut”, or “Diplôme approfondi de langue française” i.e.  DALF, by the Ministere de l’Education Nationale).
  • A commercial language course at an elementary level from a CEMS accredited cultural institution (such as the “Goethe Institut” or “l’Alliance Française”)
  • An introductory level course at an elementary or higher level 6 ECTS/ 90 total workload hours.

Certificates or other documents proving required language knowledge must be issued in the year of entering the CEMS programme at the earliest.
