Plzeňský Prazdroj
Plzeňský Prazdroj is one of the most famous breweries in the world as it has given the world one of its favorite types of beer – Pilsner, Pils. Long tradition and rich experience from the history of the company are being combined with an innovative approach and transformed into success today. We provide our customers with a broad portfolio of high-quality products in the Czech Republic and outside its borders. Over time the range of beers offered by Plzeňský Prazdroj grew to include other great beer brands such as Gambrinus, Radegast, Velkopopovický Kozel, Primus, and Klasik. Birell became the most widespread Czech non-alcoholic beer, accompanied by its flavored variations. Other alcoholic beverages produced by Plzeňský Prazdroj include the popular Kingswood ciders and the sparkling Frisco. Beers and beverages from Plzeňský Prazdroj breweries are now exported to more than 50 countries around the world. The company has four breweries in the Czech Republic: Plzeňský Prazdroj and Gambrinus in Plzeň, Radegast in Nošovice and Velkopopovický Kozel in Velké Popovice.
The brewery has been part of the SABMiller group (at the time South African Breweries) since 1999. As part of the agreements made with regulators before Anheuser-Busch InBev was allowed to acquire SABMiller in October 2016, Pilsner Urquell (excluding certain geographical areas) was sold to Japan-based Asahi Breweries in March 2017.
