Grading

International Management / CEMS programme uses two different scales of grading. The first one is based on Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) rules and the second one on CEMS guidelines.

VŠE

Grading scale is based on Article 10 (Grading of Obligations in Study) of Study and Examination Rules of Prague University of Economics and Business. All courses taught at VŠE including IM/CEMS courses are graded according to these rules, i.e. from 1 to 4. Final grades are displayed in InSIS E-study record and after graduating also in Diploma supplement.

CEMS

CEMS uses grading system based upon ECTS framework.  This grading is used within CEMS community for grading CEMS MIM courses (in cems.org) and is also displayed at CEMS MIM certificate.

While studying CEMS MIM courses at VŠE, CEMS grading has to correspond to VŠE rules. That is why InSIS displays grading scale 1-4 and based on % scale the grade is transferred into CEMS grading system as follows:

VŠE CEMS
GRADE TOTAL SCORE GRADE TOTAL SCORE
1 100 – 90% A 100 – 93%
2 89 – 75% B 92 – 85%
3 74 – 60% C 84 – 77%
4 less than 60% D 76 – 69%
E 68 – 61%
F less than 61%

EXAMPLE:

If a student finishes a course with 92%, he/she will get grade 1 according to the VŠE system. This grade will be displayed in InSIS and also in VŠE Transcript of Record. At the same time, in cems.org and CEMS Term Report this course will be graded with B.
