CPs Introduced CEMS Students to their Business Projects during Opening Presentations /Feb 17, 2023/
On Friday, February 17, 2023, yet another run of one of the core CEMS courses – Business Project (BP) – was launched. A total of 8 Corporate Partners gathered to introduce 8 BP topics for the Summer Term 2022/23 to 32 CEMS students, 21 home students and 11 incoming.
The Business Project is a consultancy-like project that serves to reinforce the CEMS partnership between universities, students, and companies, putting emphasis on the heavy lean on the practical side of the curriculum. The BP results are evaluated by both academic and corporate supervisors. Students write a report and give an oral presentation, both as a group.
Each CEMS student has to carry out a Business Project during Term 2, amounting to 15 ECTS, which is about 50 % of their Term 2 workload.
Students are thus offered to:
- gain insight into business life
- train their analytical and problem-solving skills
- apply research methods
- transfer theoretical knowledge into practice
- learn process management
- acquire social skills
- get to know potential employers and re-define their professional goals
Students are expected to:
- take responsibility for the project
- strive for the best results
- share the workload equally within the team
- communicate well with their tutors
8 BP topics introduced by companies for Term 2, 2022/2023:
This year, 8 teams will solve a real business problem as a one-semester part-time activity tutored by both the company and a professor in parallel. The kick-off presentations took place in person, with all the students, corporate partners’ representatives, and lecturers present at the university premises. The students’ final presentations will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.).
- 2 BPs are set up as cross-border (Google – CUB, LSE, VSE and Hilti – CUB, SGH, VSE)
- 6 as regular BPs with 4-5 students/team
